Contest Brief

We need a logo for a new website whose main concept revolves around a weekly game/contest. The logo should accomplish two main things: 1) Perfectly marry the two combined entities to communicate the concept. 2) Be recognizable and communicate the idea of the website if featured elsewhere.

The name of the site, which may or may not have to be included in the logo, is Box Office Golf. The concept is that users will try to guess a new movie release's weekend box office gross (how much money it makes in ticket sales), trying to get as close to the actual number as possible. So, movies (and the money made selling tickets) and golf (or getting close to a "hole in one") are the entities to combine. The site will also feature movie news and other fun activities, so the logo should represent that this is also a fun movie destination. The logo should be heavier on movies than golf, but the subtleties of golf are a must; people must be able to recognize this as a movie site first, but with the added enhancement that there is a component of golf-style game play.

  This is a movie website more than a golf website. Your logos need to incorporate the movie side, with the added element of the golf. Your logos are unfortunately way off the mark.

Please note you do NOT have to include the words Box Office Golf in the logo. It certainly can't hurt, but I'm also considering that if the brand became strong enough, the logo itself would communicate the idea without the text. Entries where the text accompanies a logo and can be separated from it if needed seem to be the strongest thus far. Thank you.

The website design is still being worked on (I'll be back on freelancer to find someone). There are no color choices made yet. The logo will help brand the site and thus, the color. This is a completely open forum. What I can say is that the logo should have a Hollywood / entertainment feel, while also incorporating the golf/game element into the logo. I'm looking to freelancers for their original concepts and creations.

Something about color?
I mean, some webs represent themselves with a caracteristic color, or combination of colors.
For example, you simply cant use red in facebook, or blue in Youtube.
