Contest Brief

** Scope **
This context is to find the best approach to solving below problem. Please read all notes carefully before start working.

** Problem Statement **
Find root and stem part of the plant in picture. Measure size of detected parts with best accuracy possible.

All photos will be of same plant category.
All photos are taken in a controlled environment. Either camera location is fixed or a ref object will be available to calculate measurement.

** Expected **
Detailed description on how to approach this problem statement. What algorithm to use for which part of problem statement. How to achieve the final result. This should include the nature of input/training data/labels expected, etc. If different algos are used, details of them and how they are connected and the purpose served by each of them. Please note accuracy of the measurement is important.
Expect to have 1-2 page doc.

** Note 1: This is not a coding contest. No code or ML Model is expected.
** Note 2: Please ask any questions you have.
** Note 3: If you make any assumption, please document. And can include more than one possible way for each stage. You can include links to relevant article/publications if application.
** Note 4: A simple solutions will be considered over a complex one if they achieve similar result.
** Note 5: Please ignore the flower part. Focus only on stem and root for this contest. You don't need to have special consideration to ignore the flower.

** How the winner is decided **
The solution which gives best accuracy in terms of measurement and detection will be chosen.
If more than one person provided same solution, the first and second entry will be chosen for first and second price accordingly.

First Price: 100 AUD

*** Please indicate if you are happy to enter into a contract after this contest for further association as a consultant during execution of the project. Each session will be billed at AUD 20/hr.
