Contest Brief
I have 18 XML files with a large amount of data. The 18 files need to be combined into a single Excel sheet.
Each XML file has a number of embedded tables / trees that need to be expanded into a single table in the Excel sheet.
The structure of all XML files is the same. the 'prime key' field is the 'identifier' (eg E 04/1169). Each XML file contains approximately 990 of these.
An example of two of the 18 files is attached.
In order to demonstrate your capability, please show;
- A screenshot of the file extracted into excel
- note the number of fields extracted (column numbers)
- note the number of records extracted (row numbers) once you have expanded into one table and combined the two files
- include some comments describing your method for combining the 18 files into 1 XLSX file, noting what software you use.
- A link to the example file in google docs / dropbox or similar.
It is possible the combined table will generate more than 1,000,000 rows. This means it may need to be done in a Power Query Data model or similar.
