Contest Brief

This contest is to 3D animate a logo. The logo will be a looping GIF over a white background. So here are some requirements:

(1) Because it's a GIF loop, it's important that the first frame and the last frame is the logo in normal 2D format. The animation will start as the logo (for about 1 second), it goes through an animation (for about 3-5 seconds), and comes back to the logo again (and holds it for about 12 seconds) as an endless loop (about 16-18 seconds in length).
(2) The background must be white
(3) No part of the logo should touch the edge of the frame. The GIF will be placed in a newsletter with a white background. I want it to “look” like it’s part of it (seeing the edges ruins that effect)
(4) I would like the file size to be kept as small as possible. This GIF will only be in emails (so plan for only 256 colors and 72 resolution).

I’m attaching an Adobe Illustrator file of the logo and an old 3D GIF animation of the logo (please do not change the colors of the logo). You are welcome to use the 3D logo for inspiration, but you can see that it doesn’t work because (1) it doesn’t loop (2) the logo crosses the edge of the frame (3) it doesn’t have a white background.

The contest winner is expected to turn over all supporting files (namely the original After Effects file) once it has been awarded.

    Thank you again, I have reviewed all the animations and the contest will remain open. A common thing I'm seeing is "too much" animation and it being too energetic. I like how the pieces of the star move around (think ballet), but too much rotating becomes too much quickly.
