Contest Brief

We are looking for a logo design for a new law firm. It is a boutique law firm specialising in commercial and taxation practice areas. It is a young and modern firm but has traditional service offerings.
Initially, we require:
1) main logo 1 - "Zafra Legal" - for the firm's physical presence (premises, signboards, decals etc);
2) main logo 2 - "Zafra Legal", with sub-text "Commercial & Taxation Lawyers" - for use on firm stationery, website and where additional detail is appropriate; and
3) abbreviated secondary logo - potentially for use alongside the main logo (i.e. page two headers etc), with the letters "ZL".
It is anticipated that the logo be all text, with the "Zafra Legal" wording in black and the "Commercial & Taxation Lawyers" being in gold. We emphasize a requirement for gold (not mustard / yellow).
We require the logo to be delivered in all usual formats for marketing, graphic design, web and if possible, a text only based format for email signatures (non-HTML / RTF) and a transparent version. Details of font and colour codes will also be required.
A preliminary design is attached.
Whilst we require a design that closely resembles the attached preliminary design (subject to scope for creative licence on alignment, spacing, font selection and other formatting), consideration will also be given to alternatives that convey a similar style and corporate identity. Ideally, if you submit an alternative to the preliminary design, you will also include a conforming logo as well.

Hi all - the vast majority of entries are coming back with a logo, many of which look great. You are welcome to submit, but we do not necessarily need, a graphical logo and will focus more on the presentation of the name and style.
