Contest Brief

Hi

Please design a creative, attention grabbing flyer using the content from the attached pdf file.

You can use any of the high resolution Toronto images located at http://nelsonstreet.ca/images.zip (approx 30 images, ~326MB), or your own images.

The winning submission has to be able to provide all original editable design files, as well as printer ready files.

This flyer will be distributed to customers via mailboxes. These mailboxes get a lot of other flyers and customers typically recycle them without reading. The design for the flyer has to get the customers attention (in a smart way, without being tacky) and make them want to keep it.

The flyer should show city of Toronto imagery in a way that makes it look good and shows pride.
The size and shape of the flyer is up to you, but it has to be relatively easy to print, transport, and distribute. Half a letter page (8.5” x 5.5”) double-sided is what I’m thinking but not a must.

There is a lot of content in the attached pdf file and all of it may not fit. Just use what you think will work best and if you have the winning design we can adjust the content if something important is missing.

Considerations For The Winning Submission:
- how easy will it be to reproduce / print the design, transport & distribute flyer?
- will older people have trouble reading the main sections of the flyer?
- does it get attention? Is it bold without showing poor taste?
- how professional/smart does it look? (it can’t look discounted)
- how how much content from the pdf file does it fit without affecting legibility

    You can also look for additional images on stock sites like istockphoto.com. Use the watermarked images for now and I will buy them if you win the contest.

    Regarding size, feel free to use a bigger size. There are a few full page / one fold (like a brochure) designs on here that look really good.

    The main image should be one that makes the customer think of real estate, and then Toronto. Some of images in the pack show buildings that would make good secondary images, but shouldn’t be used as as main images.

    The winning design should also have a creative element. Someting that would make the customer look twice. Like a collage, or something along those lines.

    Please don’t add your own text or info. You can edit the info from the pdf down to size, but please don’t change or add anything.

    The map – it should just show the city of toronto (don’t worry about streets, or highways, or rivers, or names. Just the map, or city boundries outline, and an overlay of sale points.
