Contest Brief

Hello,

I have an existing logo for my company (see attachment), including several versions and colours.

I also have an existing colour scheme – though, mostly just the turquoise colour.

I am looking for an improve logo that I can be happy with for the long-term.

My company, Barefoot Planning, does community planning, development consulting, urban design, etc.

Winning bids could be one of three things:

[1] a slight upgrade on the existing logo, using the existing colours and font (coolvetica). Right now, I generally like the simplicity and how it looks on a colour background (see business card attachment), but I don't really like it on a white background. An addition of an icon that I could use in place of the 'barefoot' text, at times, may be the answer.

[2] an upgrade on the existing logo that integrate the existing 'barefoot' style with an icon of some kind (not a foot, as that doesn't seem to work)

[3] a completely new logo

Note on icons/symbols:
I am open to ideas for an icon that goes with the text. I have had contests for a good 'foot' logo in the past, but it just doesn't work. Also, it's also not really relevant to my business. I would be more interested in including something like a geometric shape from nature (e.g., fibonacci sequence, phyllotaxis – see attached).

Note on style:
I am looking for something clean and modern. Nothing with gradients or cartoons or anything like that.

Would also be good to have something that worked on white and coloured backgrounds (e.g., a dark/coloured version and a white version).

I've added an attachment image of Phyllotaxis, a geometric shape that I was previously interested in using as a icon. I know there are ways to generate this shape fairly easily.
