Contest Brief

Tikatadeals.com/nl is a site that has been attrackting thousands of visitors looking for tickets to zoos, themeparks and museums since 2017. So far we have been comparing single tickets only (tickets that give access to a park) Now the pandemic is coming to and end we want to focus more on combi deals (tickets for 2 parks combined) and tickets including a stay (ticket + hotel for Disneyland for example).

The homepage currently only has one search field to search for single tickets only for over 300 parks but we want to add the "ticket with a stay" and "combi tickets" to that too. See attacked image what that might look like on desktop.

The problem is that on desktop those extra tabs will fit easily but on mobile...it wont. 80% of our visitors are using mobile devices so what I'm looking for now is someone who can come up with a killer design for the top part of the page on mobile based on the existing site and attached example of 1 extra tab on desktop.

Good to know:
- The first tab will be called: "Losse tickets" and wil contain the search field like we have already on the live site
- The second tab will be called "Verblijf" (see attached possible design for desktop). This will be a direct link to a new page (so now search field needed)
- The third tab will be called "Combi tickets". This will also be a direct link to a new page (so no search field needed).
- I like the rest of the design/page so you don't have to alter that unless it works brilliantly on mobile.
- Design should fit the rest of the site.
- Make sure it fits average screen sizes (so not only iPhone 12 Max with huge resolutions)

Best design for mobile wins the contest. Good luck!

Thanks all for joining the contest. I must admit I had expected more original designs but lets blame me for the bad briefing :) Several entries were as good as the winner but I decided to pick this as it added some other colors than just the blue and white of other designs.

@david: correct. Like stated above almost everyone came with tabs and it's a sign that the winner only had 2 stars. I usually give my winners 4 or 5 stars. So it's not perfect but at least the tabs fit the elements on the rest of the site. @Rahat: agree that the color chosen (orange/reddish) does not fit. But I will be adding more colors to the site in the near future so together with my dev I will decide on what color that fits.

Getting a lot of similar designs now. Rating all those 1 or 2 without a comment. Please try to be creative and come up with something completely new if possible. Only way to win this now :)

So far I'm seeing more of the same idea (tabs in some sort of form). I would really be interested in something completely different too. Check https://www.madametussauds.com/amsterdam/ for example. It works with blocks that are shown below eachother on mobile. Or maybe split the current hero up in three blocks on desktop that can be shown below eachother on mobile.

https://www.tikatadeals.com/nl is working? And the madametussauds one has no searchbar indeed. So it needs to be introduced somehow if you choose to go that direction

Hi CH, what I understand from the description is that you want another design for your top header with two more tabs added that fit on mobile screens, my question is that you want the two new tabs to go to other pages but you don't give us the links to those pages?

Another tip: if you think the desktop page needs change to better fit your mobile design, feel free to propose that. For example: now desktop is one big hero with the searchfield. If you think it helps to make that into 3 same size blocks: one for single tickets, one for deals with a stay and one for combi tickets because those blocks can be reused below eachother on mobile then I'm open for ideas like that too. Please be creative!

Combi tickets are tickets for 2 parks. So we have single tickets for for example Disneyland. A combi deal could be a ticket for Disneyland and Warner Bros Studio. So 1 ticket for 2 parks.

Small tip for all: the three tabs next to eachother wont fit on a normal size smartphone. It might fit (and still be readable) on an iPhone 12 max but I need a design that also works on phones with a lower resolution so please no more designs with the tabs next to eachother on mobile. That wont work

I understand that Syed: but I had my dev build the tabs already some time ago and tested them on several devices. On most devices it just wont fit. So im looking for someting different. Maybe with icons in the tabs in stead of text (but icons not always work), maybe by adding some blocks that explain the options, maybe something I else. Be creative.
