Contest Brief

I am working on an educational polling website. I am time poor and don't have the design skills to put together something that will be user-friendly and beautiful. I am looking for a great design that suits the proposed user experience of the site.

Feel free to submit a response that does not conform to the details below. If you believe you have a better way to present this website, I am all for it!

***

Title of site: Polled Answer (for ESL speakers, it's a play on "Poll Dancer")

Purpose of the site: Host free polls where people can choose from an array of polling methodologies.

Note: I have noticed some confusion. I am referring to single outcome, election style polls, not survey style ranges of opinions.

***

Actions that can be performed on the site:

1. Research poll types
Users will be able to browse or search through the available poll types (approx 40-50 options). Each poll type will have an article associated with it that provides the detail and methodology of the poll type.

2. Create polls
There will need to be a poll creator. Personally, I see a side-by-side editor where the user inputs what they want on the left and a preview of their poll appears on the right. But I am open to any and all suggestions.

3. Complete polls
A page where users will complete a poll. This page will require a method of being able to get information about the poll type in use (refer item 1).

4. Search public polls
I would like a browse, search and filter page for the currently open publicly shared polls.

5. Results page
A page where the results of a poll can be viewed. This would likely have a summary of results table and a graph depending on the poll types used.

***

Things I am looking for:

1. A site logo if you think one is necessary (no penalty for great designs that do not require a logo)

2. Brief descriptions of how users will interact with the site (only as much detail as you believe is necessary)

3. Brief descriptions of any effects that would be implemented (eg: fades, animations, etc.)

4. Proposed CSS dimensions (pixels, %, em, etc) of the layout and content

5. A clean aesthetic - no visual clutter

***

Submission Format: Accessible formats only. Any combination of PDF, SVG, HTML/CSS with accompanying images. If you would like to submit a different format, please contact me and I will confirm its suitability.

***

I will be responsive to any questions you might have. Please send me a message if you require any clarifications.
