I need someone to design a Trigger Lock to my specifications for a Smith and Wesson M&P 9MM Hand Gun. I have certain ways I would like the lock to be designed, and certain ways I would like to trigger the unlocking mechanism. Whoever I choose to engineer this for me, I would like to talk over some sort of voice or text chat and discuss what I would like to see. Also, if you don't mind, I would like to watch how you go about designing it. Here is a quick overview of what you would be designing To start with, you will be developing half of the final product - so it will need to be modular and will need to allow me to slide the 2nd piece on and have the release line up with the 2nd half the lock is two parts ( sides ) One side has two rods (pins) Dial on side that has the insers for the pins that will allow you to clamp/tighten the lock Rods possibly have gear teeth on them to allow the dial to pull/clamp the 2 pieces together? If you have other methods of doing so i'm all ears. The other side has two holes to insert the pins into - that will be spring loaded allowing the lock to spring apart both sides will be connected on the bottom by a slider(?) to make the lock usable for different firearms Required functions : 1- clamping the sides by pushing them by hand first. 2- additional clamping is made by rotating a dial on the half of the lock that contains the inserts for the 2 pins 3- button/rod to press and release the lock that is accessible by a 2nd piece 4- Modular design that I can fit my 2nd part of my design to. Useable mechanisms -- completely winging it here - as I'm not an engineer and only have a vision of what i'd like to see. 3- (rotating) ratchet mechanism for the dial to be irreversible. 4- claw mechanism (petal clamps) for releasing function.

Design a Simple Deployment Mechanism (SDM) In this challenge, you are asked to design a Simple Deployment Mechanism (SDM). This challenge is focused on the actuator selection and mechanism design and does not require detailed consideration of mounting, housing, control or electronics. How it works: The SDM must be capable of performing two high-level actions: 1) displace a point mass from it’s starting point (origin) to a set destination 2) return that point mass back to its origin.
