Business Development and Marketing for Ship Chartering and Brokerage business with a minimum experience of 1 year in shipping industry is a must. Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of vessel chartering activities, ensure profitable employment of managed/operated vessels, time charter-in tonnage. Calculate voyage estimates and assist with budgeting and preparation of commercial tenders. Monitor market conditions and rates for the industry through all appropriate means. Co-ordinate with agency and operations on all aspects of joint projects and initiate any enhancements that will enhance customers’ satisfaction. Develop and implement marketing and chartering strategies to provide integrated services that meet clients’ requirements and provide sustainable income/growth for the company. Conduct background checks on charters and/or owners to ensure conformity with company standards. Prepare regular and periodic reports/reviews. Assist in organizing operational matters or activities as and when required. Support in all ad-hoc and crewing/payroll related projects and activities as required. As a Ship Broker you should be able to: Cover many disciplines, such as sale and purchase, dry cargo brokering, tanker brokering or container brokering. However, it is more commonplace for Ship Brokers to specialise in one particular area. Handle typical responsibilities of a Ship Broker would involve marketing of tonnage (ships) to customers / shippers / charterers. Negotiate spot/time charters to achieve maximum income for the owners. Maintain records or tonnage within the company’s database. Handle various stages of setting up and negotiating deals, including presenting the business to potential clients, negotiating the main terms of a contract or sale and seeing it through to its conclusion and any follow up that may be involved.
