Telephone handling is a fundamental element of sales and customer service which involves the management of outbound and/or inbound calls. It can be divided into two: outbound and inbound call handling. Outbound call handling means managing calls from the company to customers, suppliers, and other third-party contacts. Meanwhile, inbound call handling is the management of calls coming from customers to the business.

 

Telephone handling as a skill has become more in demand over the years with more and more businesses recognizing the value of customer service, as well as due to the increasing number of call center companies which specialize on taking and making calls.
