Week 2: Designing a Leadership Plan

Imagine that you have been assigned to a new school. You must present your plan for leadership within the school, or within your grade level if more applicable, to a steering committee from your new school. Organize a visual representation of the leadership dashboard discussed in this week’s readings using PowerPoint slides. Organize the next slides in your PowerPoint to help you present each element in your leadership dashboard in detail, identifying rationale for the choice in element and a discussion of the benefit to focusing on this element. Finally, create one more slide with talking points for an elevator speech which you would provide when meeting a new employee. The actual speech should be available in your speakers’ notes, contain less than 400 words, outline your focus as a leader, and offer insight into your leadership style and approach. Remember that this dashboard and speech will set the tone for your leadership at this school.

Length: 10 slides, with speakers’ notes

Your notes can fill the role of the speaker, giving your audience the background and details that a speaker would provide during a live presentation.
