Hello I'm Alex Ford, I want to be open with you and tell you my expertise lies firmly in classical music. From the brief you've given I feel this could be perfect for you. I'm a classical composer, I have a bachelors degree in classical music composition and have had works of my own published (available from Editiondb). I am comfortable writing for a huge range of instruments, however my specialty is piano. This is my first instrument and the one with which I have the widest knowledge of. I have worked on short film projects before, they have however been amateur productions with friends looking to spend some time doing things they enjoy. I do have a good understanding of the time pressures and the back and forth. I also understand the necessity for tempering the music to not always be self supporting as is often the difficulty with the cross from composing for an audience to composing for a visual stimulus. I am a sound designer/editor and dubbing mixer and have been working in my craft  for over 25 years with experience in features, shorts, documentaries, spots, theater and editorial content projects. All elements of sound design and editing to include; Dialog editing/cleaning, noise reduction, SFX spotting and recording, Foley, Music (either original score or spot score and incidental music), ambient and room tone and ADR looping. Hundreds of the highest quality digital SFX and ambient samples. And my own recorded SFX and ambient library all free with projects. Also, 99% of all projects completed, have been accomplished as "long distance" collaborations all over the world. In the UK, Berlin, Milano, Sydney, LA, NYC, D.C. and so on. Reason being, is that I am a diligent communicator and have developed tools to keep the post crew and producers all 100% informed of progress on the sound design. My studio is compatible with ProTools (to v.9), Nuendo, Logic Pro and Digital Performer. OMF (type-2) & AAF files from FCP and AVID easily accepted here as are XML's and cue sheets for spotting.
