I require a PCB layout for which controls an pump system. I would like to bring all the wiring and level controls onto a single board. I have attached a wiring schematic of how we wire the system at the moment. We would like to also incorporate into the pcb design 2 level controllers. These are monitoring the level of the tank. We need to get to a stage where we can hand over the design to an PCB manufacturer for quotes and full production. PCB Connection terminals: Power In: - The incoming mains enters board here (240vac - 4.5kw max current) Heater: Power from incoming mains goes through a 5a fuse and terminates on edge of board with Live, Neutral and Earth. Max current of 1kw Pump 1: Power from incoming mains goes through an 10a fues and terminates on edge of board with Live, Neutral and Earth. Max Current of 2kw Pump 2: Power from incoming mains goes through an 10a fues and terminates on edge of board with Live, Neutral and Earth. Max Current of 2kw Water Solenoid Valve: Power from the solenoid control relay on an low water signal will activate the solenoid until max water level has been reached. Alarm Volt Free Contact: This provides both normally open and normally closed volt free signal from the High Alarm Probe Level Probe: 4 probes (Common, Low, Min & Max) level probes control the system. Low level is monitored by the Low Level Relay and upon alarm disengages the run signals for pumps 1 & 2. Min and Max is monitored by the Solenoid Control Relay which when low is activated the solenoid valve opens until the max probe is reached where the valve then closes. Fault From Pump 1 & 2: These common up with the fault from the Low Water Relay which is an normally open contact on the Low Water Relay. Fault Volt Free Contact: This comes from the Low Water Relay which is an normally open contact which engages when powered - on fault condition this relay opens - also is connected to the Fault From Pump 1 & 2 contacts. The level controllers we are using at the moment are made by Schneider Electrics part number RM35LM - we want to incorporate a similar controller within our PCB design. This is to allow us to achieve an all in one control system. This needs to be able to fit into as small PCB as possiable - our ideal is this one: [login to view URL] Any further questions please do ask!

Hello I have experience on these kind of designs for industrial environment. I am planning on including a circuit with a microcontroller on board so it will be as small as possible. But still, I don't know much detail about this. How many of this you wish to produce and how it will be assembled? One part I didn't understand is the box on the right of the drawing labeled as "Level Control". As far as I have understand from the project description, this part outputs a relay's contacts to the "Alarm Volt Free Contact" with taking "high liquid level alarm" from the level sensor as inputs, but I didn't get the "level control" part.

Hello ... Your project is very interesting , I congratulate you for this initiative. I've been looking at your project and I realize that will be used to control fluid levels continuously. But I have some doubts about the design of the attached schematic , such as : • When the "fault pump" from LOW LEVEL RELAY will be open ? , When level is low ? • Are you going to use “fault pump” signal to control or just to show (like a LED or bulb) • I note that the signals "RUN SIGNAL PUMP 1 " and " RUN SIGNAL PUMP 2 " are common on relay output . The control signal of the pumps are not independent. That's right for your purposes ? • What do you want to control with “RUN SIGNAL PUMP”? a contactor coil? It is necessary and very important to calculate correctly the width of each line on the PBC according to the amount of current (I recommend a width of 5 mm to 10 amp , 2 mm to 5 Amp and 0.8 mm for control signals. You need metallized holes in the power terminals. I have predesigned a model (paper) that will work properly. I could digitize it using Ultiboard software and delivery electric schematic (with simulation), 3D design, PCB design and Gerber files to full production. it is possible to make such small PCB to enter the box that you want. I will be waiting for your comments and i will be glad to work with you. Thanks. Darwin Pardo

Greeting sir! I can do what you want. I have experience in this area. I made similar system for control of processes in a greenhouse (solenoid valves controlled according to soil moisture, ventilation controlled according to air temperature and humidity, etc.). This project is not a lot different from that. I am experienced in designing schematics and PCBs in Altium Designer, as well as in programming MCUs. This should be an easy project. About the specification list, I have one question. Can you please explain me level probes in a bit more details. I am not sure that I fully understood how it signals certain water level. Best regards, Milos

Hello, Firstly - I realise my bid is higher than most others on here! I am a professional senior electronics design engineer with over 10 years' industrial design experience. I worked in the military, automotive and industrial industries, and feel I am excellently placed to judge a project like this. You clearly need a solid, reliable and safe design which meets the requirements of the low voltage directive (due to the presence of mains AC on the board). This my bread-and-butter, and I am confident I can provide this. I am happy to jump on a call (skype/phone/Freelancer) to discuss how I can help with the project further. Also, depending on distance, I may be able to travel to have a face-to-face meeting if it would be of help (I find it almost invariably is!). I hope to discuss the project with you further in the near future. Kind regards, Anna Millington.

Are the level probe standard conductive type? Do you need the thermal control of heater? What is the maximum load on alarm volt-free contact? p.s. I am working in Altium designer and have experience with pcb production - from idea to ordering, assembly and support. Have ability of small-scale assembly (up to 50 pcs/week).
