1. The goal of the project: Design a very simple countdown timer PCB that can interface with a smartphone. 2. Rough specification: PCB should aim to be smaller than 20mm x 40mm x 15mm (this is open to discussion and dependant on functionality and cost). Microcontroller Vibration motor 4 push buttons Bluetooth capability Power source LEDs Header to allow for re-programming of microcontroller 3. Function description: The user can set a countdown timer using the buttons. Flashing LED(s) give user feedback that the countdown has been set. The vibration motor is activated once the countdown has been reached and can only be stopped by the user by pushing one of the buttons. The name of which button was selected and the countdown duration is recorded and submitted to the connected smartphone. Typical countdown durations are 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. Note: The creation of the smartphone app is not within the scope of this project. Greetings sir! This project is peace of cake. But, I have a few questions. 1. What do you mean by "LEDs"? 20x40x15 mm isn't that big, so the best option will be using of-the-shelf 7 segment displays. 2. Will this project be produced as one ample or it will be mass produced? BT module depends on this. If it will be one of a kind system than it will be OK to use HC-05 (HC-06) BT module. 3. Which MCU should be used? Does it matter? 4. About power source. It should be a battery powered system? What should be life time of a battery? Rechargeable batteries? Favourite film? It's not a film, but who cares. Band of Brothers. Best regards, Milos

First of all, my favourite movie of all time is the Shawshank Redemption! I only recently did a project about an underwater robot whose depth is controlled using a Bluetooth module. I used an Arduino nano as the microcontroller and designed the PCB using Proteus. I feel excited to read this project description because I can already picture exactly how I can achieve it. The design of the PCB is actually pretty simple. I won't be too wordy, just kindly consider my proposal.
