Accommodation, Eating, Tourism & Events Website

Looking to develop a website based on tourism: accommodation, eating and events with a particular focus on entertainment (gig guide and events). This development was previously posted, but the developer engaged was unable to complete the project. Most of the content on the site will be user (the merchants/vendors) generated, but moderated by site admin. There will be inter-relational database complexities (ie, some users will have overlap - an accommodation merchant may also have a restaurant and entertainment). Users will then have individual templated pages generated within the site based on the information they provide. There will be different templates, each using some fields common to all templates and some unique to specific templates. There will be some need for admin to extract a small portion of user information (gig guide) into a specific format plain text document on a regular basis. The site would potentially generate revenue from both a user-pays system (annual/monthly fee for listing) and through accommodation booking widgets such as Expedia (Expedia Affiliate Network - EAN) or Booking.com. A range of websites will be provided that have a similar "look", but creativity is encouraged. An extensive vision statement/brief for the project will be provided, but would first like to see links to some projects you have completed in a broadly similar field especially with some database complexity involved. We would be interested to see if there was scope to have it initially developed using WordPress (if it was going to be clean and quick loading), and then redeveloped at a later stage in custom PHP depending on market uptake.
