This is an automatic "sniping" tool for an auction site other than ebay. Specific site example will be given when we talk.
This is solely for the purpose of not having to be sitting at the computer and entering bids in an auction that has extended closing times. Some auctions extend the closing time when a bid is place within the last X minutes (the time increment) the bidding process can take a long time so this is strictly a time saving device. Most everything in this description is negotiable (I am not totally programming savvy so for an example, I don't know if the auto-logon to https is possible) I am flexible and willing to accept an offer of whatever part of this you can definitely do.
The site I have in mind uses javascript and you can sometimes see the javascript instructions when hovering over a button.
user enters time the auction ends, item number, highest amount to pay, time increment, and bid increment into the interface.
At specified time, computer starts the browser, (or browser is left running)
browser logs onto the website (https) and looks up the item number, places a bid that is higher than the current bid, and monitors to see if I'm the high bidder (different ways of doing this which we'll discuss)
at the end of time increment, browser enters a higher bid if I am not currently the high bidder and the auction has not closed.
