System not booting, after intentionally removing hdd ( without gracefully failing mdadm array), for testing purposes
Symptoms:
-After copying partitions from sda to sdb /sbin/sfdisk -d /dev/sda | /sbin/sfdisk /dev/sdb
some partitions reporting missing superblock. mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdb1 also fails
-Also several block devices are inactive
Partial workaround is possible ( I can rebuild /boot and / arrays and commenting out the other partitions from /etc/fstab system boots), but I need full recovery of raid.
Workflow access SuperMicro IPMI ( system is not bootable) and work together via Skype remote share screens.
Must have solid expertise with mdadm arrays. Warning, task is not trivial, payments will be accepted only in case of full successfully solution!
Thank you!
