Basic Android Application

Create a small Android app in Java, using Eclipse and the Android Development Tools plugin (as installed on SoC Linux PCs). The app should include at least two activities and use at least four different Android widgets. The Nexus 7 tablet should be your target device. Your app should perform a useful task of some kind, the nature of which is entirely up to you. For example, you could implement a converter for currencies or for different systems of weights & measures. Or you could implement an app that finds anagrams of words (useful for crossword solvers). Make use of data and services available over the internet if you wish. Be creative! Optional Extra Feature If you are feeling sufficiently confident and motivated, you can earn a few extra marks by implementing one additional advanced feature in your app. This could be a broadcast receiver, service or content provider, if appropriate. Or you could make use of hardware such as the GPS or the camera. Marks will be awarded for such features only if they make sense for the app that you have chosen to implement.
