Hello! I'd like to offer my help with your project. What you're looking for is quite an easy task I've done many time before. The solution with background worker, which you refereed too, can be used. But it's not ideal to my opinion. If you want to load many files with maximum parallelism possible I would offer too use ether Tasks/PLINQ based approach (for .NET > 3.5) or thread pool threads (for .NET <=3.5).
