i have a working J2ME app that does not work on cingular cause of security issues/ certificate not valdiated. i was wondering if a symbian app would solve the problem as a proof of concept i want a app that will work on cingular that can do this: GUI - 2 text boxes , list with commnads ... listen on a port (should be configurable later but now can just use 5015 or other if u know what cingular allows and does not allow) (when app starts log to list : listening on port ... or the error message ) if it gets text message just append to a list: text msg from .... message ... at ... date ... (blank line) to send a text messsage - a text box (with type Phone number so some phones give Search automatically as they do with J2ME apps) a single line text box to enter 'Any' text a send command basic error handling - pop up message for 10 seconds and gracefully try to recover or die.
