Blog widget development

We are a new web 2.0 company who would like to develop a widget in order to help disseminate our content. The widget will be for bloggers to put in the sidebar of their blog. The widget will enable readers to rate the blogger. We have several web developers on our team, but none of us have experience making widgets. We'd like the freelancer to be able to explain to us what is technologically possible with the widget. We know we cannot use AJAX but we wonder if we can let people use a Javascript "slider" to rate the blogger, and then press a submit button that will submit the rating and direct the user to our site. When submitting a bid, please include example of your past work. We prefer that you give us URL links to your past work rather than attaching a file with your bid.
