We have science lectures on our Internetserver. ? We need an application that allows us to putencrypted lectures on local machine of end users. The desktop application should be able tocommunicate with Server side application built by coder and pass on requiredparameters for further processing. It should also allow communication fromServer side application to Desktop application. The coder will be required tobuild webservice that allows communication between his Desktop application andServer side application. ## Deliverables Server side application should be on Oracle10g database. *Server is running RedHat Linux with Oracle 10gdatabase and Oracle 10g Application server. This information may help indeciding the webservice technology to be implemented.* ? We have science lectures on our Internetserver. The steps to see the lecture presently are: ? [login to view URL] log in and comes to the home page (See attachment titled‘1_Home Page’) [login to view URL] clicks on course name and comes to course StudyDesk (Seeattachment titled ‘2_Student Study Desk’) [login to view URL] now selects any available plan page (See attachment titled‘3_Flexible Study Plan choice’) [login to view URL] opens up with ‘Course Explorer’ on the left. This alsoshows are internal database structure for storing lectures. Central? serverstores lectures in the following format ??" Stream > Course > Subject > Topic? > Chapter > Article. (Seeattachment titled ‘4_Data Structure’). Lectures are stored in Article [login to view URL] database used on server? is Oracle 10g.? [login to view URL] clicks on Lecture name called ‘Article’ in our system. Useropts for ‘Play Lecture’ page (See attachment titled ‘5_Play Lecture’) [login to view URL] are in flash format. They start playing on the right ofcourse explorer (See attachment titled ‘6_Lectures on Units’). Sample lectureis attached. [login to view URL] will provide access to live course application to all coderswho wish to see our lectures in action. ? We need an application that allows us to putencrypted lectures on local machine of end users. ? [login to view URL] could be many machines, in LAN, and connected to the singleInternet connection. Application should work in LAN environment and non LANenvironment. [login to view URL] should allow user to run the application on only onemachine. User should be allowed to surrender machine specific license and moveto a new machine. However application should allow more than one valid user towork on the same machine. [login to view URL] should run on Mac, XP, Vistaand other window os.? [login to view URL] application should also have same structure as mentionedin attachment 4_Database Structure. [login to view URL] and server side application should be able to communicateand pass parameters to each other. Parameters stored on Server side databasebuilt by coder will be picked by our 10g application for further internalprocessing. ? [login to view URL] should build process by which lectures/examples can beloaded to the desktop/server side application built by coder. CD/DVD,containing lectures/examples, for desktop application should be created for circulationto users. [login to view URL] application should track the time spent on lectures on localmachine and should pass? the time spent, by user,? on lectures toserver side application built by coder. [login to view URL] user will have maximum? limit to total time they canconsume seeing the lectures. Server side application can have an interface to enter thedata manually. The max. time limit should be passed on to desktop side of theapplication built by the coder on first log in. User should be able to run theapplication even without internet connection for allocated time. The applicationshould stop running the moment total time is ? exhausted. ? However user will have anoption for requesting extension of max time allocated. The request will bereceived at server side application built by coder and passed to ? our application which may or may not beapproved by admin. In either case Desktop application has to be updated for maxtime limit. [login to view URL] article has associated 'Examples' field which can also storeflash video lectures which can be either in ‘View Example’ or ‘View Solution’Field. See attachment 8_Lectures on Examples on Article. Desktop applicationshould have similar provision of maintaining example lectures and recordingtime spent on examples. This time spent should also be integrated with server sideapplication as mentioned in point 7 above. [login to view URL] encrypted lecture application should be produced ready fordistribution on CD/DVD. Application should be equipped with self installationwith step by step guide for installation. [login to view URL] should first submit flow chart of proposed program. Then wewill full design document including screen designs. Coding should start onlywhen all intermediary steps are done by the coder. [login to view URL] reserve the right to change the description before finalizingthe contract. ? ?
