Database Site

We need a website built that is simple in design (no flash needed), but will be database heavy. The database will be roughly 120 fields. We will need to be easily search this database via an easy-to-use interface that will need to be included, yet shielded from the general web user. This interface will allow the user to enter in minimum or maximum values in multiple fields to generate matches and close matches. Instruction on how to use the interface will be provided to the buyer's satisfaction. This site must work across all major browsers (at least Safari's current Mac version, IE 6 & 7, and Firefox 1.5 & 2.0). A logo for the site must also be designed. Setup communication with the server and web host will be done by the coder, and a turnkey site will be presented to the buyer. A simple and reasonable non-disclosure agreement will be required to be signed by the winning coder. While all bids will be considered, preference may be given to bidders whose first language is English and/or are local to the Los Angeles area. We are open to suggestions for servers, database software, code language, and other technical specifics. We are only interested in functionality and meeting the requirements posted. We think it's always best to trust the professionals in this regard. We're looking to establish a long-term relationship with a coder who places value in customer service and going above and beyond for what's in their client's best interests, as opposed to cutting corners to get the job done. We look forward to answering any and all questions you may have. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Will need to be functional for searching in both Windows XP & Mac OSX.
