Create a CGI script in Perl that allows people to add appointments to Microsoft Outlook, Macintosh iCal, MSN Hotmail, and Yahoo! Calendar. I want something very similar to Trumba ( [login to view URL] ) without Trumba OneCalendar and with Yahoo! Calendars and Thunderbird. The user experience would be multiple pages: Page 1: a form that has the following fields: Title, description, location, appointment date & time, reminder date & time (optional) Page 2: a selection of calendars to choose from. Outlook, Mac iCal, MSN Hotmail, and Yahoo!, Thunderbird. Page 3: Collect any additional calendar information needed to post the appointment to the calendar. Page 4: Post the appointment and confirmation page. The UI for this project can be very raw with just simple HTML form. The whole thing can be a single CGI script or multiple ones. Code must be well-documented and use standard Perl modules available on CPAN whenever possible (CGI, LWP, etc). Creating an object oriented interface to each calendar type would be a big plus. All appointments should be sent as email attachments to the proper client or spawn a new browser window with a form submit. For example, Thunderbird can recieve iCal attachments. Yahoo needs to have a form posted to yahoo.calendar.com--I think that's the only way to do it. I do not expect the CGI to launch any external applications. Coder does however need to investigate the best possible way to add appointments to each calendar application.
