Functional Spec RFP
Calling all C#/WPF gurus we have 300 MB of code that got out of control. We are looking for developers with experience in an N-Tier environment to review our code and develop a functional specification based upon the original code.
Nitti Gritty
We are not interested in a high level overview. You need to dig into the details providing a map to get out of the quagmire we are in. We will provide a functional specification template. The application is written in Visual Studio 2008 C# with WPF and a MySQL back end.
Clean Up
Please be certain to provide an effort estimate for cleaning the code. Future developers will be required to utilize best practices. We will also require that the existing code be cleaned.
Proof of Concept
Currently the application compiles but does not properly execute. A requirement of this RFP is for you to take the existing code and make it run. We believe that it may have something to do with the MySQL back end. Your payment is not contingent upon a functioning app, however we are convinced there is enough there to make it fly. A properly executed application will convince us that you know what you are talking about and we can trust your functional specification.
Plenty of Work
Once we have your functional specification in place we will require a technical specification followed by development. If your functional specification is good you would be prime candidate for the technical specification as well as development.
