First let me say that we are running a classy, tasteful, yet friendly and fun adult toy site. I’m trying to complete a cool informative environment to buy adult toys. We are running Cs-Cart Shopping cart system and the site is about 80% complete but still needing a few things.

The product detail (PD) page is where I feel we drop the ball. We have placed alot of focus on the design and usability of the home page, and that effort does not continue through to the rest of the website. More of the user’s time is spent on the product detail page than any other. Here, we need to offer customers all of the information they are looking for but present it in an intelligent way as well. Maybe even offer roll-over images so there is less clicking and more instant gratification from a functional stand-point. I’d like to organize our product details box in a more reader friendly way. Maybe in a grid type layout. I’d also like to add a horizontal scroller that the customer can click forward or back to the next item. Also like to add a forward and back page button on the products page.

In order to be profitable, we would like to engage our customers with content and use social media outlets within and outside our own website. 93% of social media users believe a company should have a presence in social media while an 85% believe a company should not only have a presence in but also interact with its consumers via social media. This will give our customers the ability to add mytoycrush or product detail pages to websites such as Delicious, StumpleUpon, Digg, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Maybe even give them the ability to customize their experience on our website.

Much like the (PD) page, the checkout process is a critical piece that will engage our customer on a somewhat intimate level. However, unlike the PD page, where customers want to spend time to make sure they want what they are looking at, the checkout process should have as few steps as possible. Too many steps and I feel the customer feels trapped. But too quick and they feel like they have lost control. For instance, asking for credit card information too soon will seem out of order and no doubt scare even the most seasoned online shopper into abandoning their cart.

I feel that making sure our customer knows that your website (especially this market) is secure and that their privacy will never be compromised goes back to the issue of trust. It doesn't take much effort to display a message telling our customers that they are safe in our hands; a footer link to a privacy policy is not always enough. So certificates, a few cleverly placed banners will work for us. With this being said, I'd like to keep the site from being too heavy and keep it realativly simple so it's light and fast.

More than anything I need someone that is willing to be there for us. Help us through things when we have questions or ideas. We need someone that we can form a strong working relationship with. We have another project that we will begin work on after we launch this site. It will be the lingerie side of the business. So someone we can become familiar with would be nice.

Also I want you to suggest ideas of what we should add or take away…use your knowledge to work your magic. Other things I’d like to have done are fairly simple tasks. Things such as, Page back/page forward buttons, horizontal scroller that will display popular items and paypal pro installation. I have several banners that I would like to link to catagories. A few of our buttons we would like the order switched…very basic things but need someone that understands ecommerce as well as design.

Well this is a general idea of what I need to accomplish. If you think this something you would like to take on, then let me know and give us a ball park quote. Oh and some of the functional changes I’d like to have done I can get the code/script from the forum and just need someone to install them. So there won’t be any code writing but just installing but it would be nice if you have progaramming excperience as I do have a idea or two that I’d like coded if possible. Mainly a product filter that would filter things like material, and safety to name a few.

I’m not in a big rush but would like to get someone that I know is interested in taking this project on. I’m looking at about one more month before we get going on this. Just let me know if this is something you would be interested in and give us an estimated quote. Thanks and someone in Louisville, Ky would even be better.
