My company imports live tropical aquarium fish. I run the company off of an old DOS Basic program that was custom written for us in 1986. It will not run, of course, on any platform higher than WINDOWS 95. My project is to convert that total DOS Basic Program to a Windows enviroment and aditionally add some tweaks so that I have a bit more flexability. The Platform that I wish to run the New Windows Program on is Windows 2000. I am able to supply the programer with all the OLD Source Codes as well as data to make it run. I have created a 13 page "WORD" file that describes everything I would like to accomplish. I intend to attach that file below.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) Buyer is not real computer savy. Programer may need to advise exactly how to install and run finished program as well as additional updates if malfunctions are found.
## Platform
I want the program to run on a platform of WINDOWS 2000. I recently bought a new DELL computer with Windows XP Home Edition w/ Small Office XP pkg etc. 1.8GHz, 256MB SDRAM, 80GB Hard Drive. After I bought it I discovered that my old DOS Basic programs would NOT run. MY PLAN - is to erase that operating system and install Windows 2000 as the Operating System. I was advised that this is probably the most stable and thats what I'm after. If the programmer feels strongly that this is a mistake then I am willing to listen to alternatives.... but for now WINDOWS 2000 is going to be the operating system. NOTE: I am not real computer savy.
