Creating new brand image for an establised internet registration site for kids registering to play any of many sports for local clubs, scheduling games for leagues, registering kids for summer sports camps, and selling tickets and gear for local clubs.
Will deploy as ASP.net 3.5 SQL Server 2008 site as single web site with each venue a virtual directory
Looking for:
-- very clean
web template to serve as template for company and regularly paying customers
-- attractive banner logo capturing spirit of business (multisport, kids, rapid access to info for parents).
-- layered approach so each individual club or venue can have their look and feel (for example, whereas the company as a whole could have an icon that indicates multiple sports, an individual sport venue would have it's specific sport icon; also the individual venue sites would have their name emphasized (with their being a member site de-emphasised), the company site would do the opposite).
-- critical template sections: 1) banner, 2) global menu for anonymous user: could be horizontal under banner... 3) menu for logged in user: could appear as vertical menu in left or right body column... 4) "public" menu area for each venue where the administrator can add any menu items/links they want: could appear as vertical menu in left or right body column. 5) strechable body area (this is already programmed: registration forms, schedule displays, batch email interfaces, etc, etc).
The difficulty in this business is the mismatch between what paying customers want and what the parents who are registering kids want: Venues often want glossy, sexy, sites. Parents don't care nearly as much how sexy a site is as how easy it is to use and how fast they can both register their kids and get info on where to go for what game vs who. The winning solution will be one that is a compromise between these issues.
## Deliverables

2. left menu column (ML) + stretchable content column (CC)
3. left menu column (ML) + stretchable content column (CC) + right menu column (MR)
3. Distinctive horizontal menu style for M1
1. css
2. javascript
4. Distinctive vertical menu style for ML and MR
1. css
2. javascript
5. Distinctive banner for company "[login to view URL]" with tagline "Stay connected on and off the field"
1. new logo that captures companies business of administering amateur sports. Current logo is:
1. <[login to view URL]>
2. I like how it captures the notion of multi-sport -- I think it could be cleaner and more professional. I'm open to creative suggestions here
2. Logo region of banner should be overlaying as should be the text descriptors in the banner (company name and tagline). That way the banner can be reused by the member clubs taking the following actions:
1. replace the logo with the members logo (many clubs have their own logos) or a logo capturing their sport (soccer ball for a soccer club, for ex)
2. replace the company text with the club name as text
3. replace the company tagline with "a [login to view URL] member site"
6. Distinctive sports logo to be used as described above, for each of the following sports:
1. baseball
2. basketball
3. cheerleading
4. field hockey
5. football
6. golf
7. ice hockey
8. lacrosse
9. rugby
10. soccer
11. softball
12. tennis
13. volleyball
14. wrestling
2. Design principles
1. the look an feel should communicate to parents who are registering their children to play sports with their local clubs:
1. this is a professional operation that I can trust
2. this site is extremely easy to use
3. [login to view URL] does NOT use banner advertising, so no need to lose screen real-estate for a region that does same. The company prides itself on getting info to parents as rapidly as possible with the fewest number of clicks.
