Description of work to be done is clear enough except:: - when you press "check" button, should it highlight correct words with green, uncorrect with red or just announce whether entire crossword is solved or not? - as you said in description, your keys file should be .txt, but in attachments there is .doc file. It would be great if you propose key file structure. It's an important requirement to make universal solution - to solve this task, server side code is required. It's the way to have JS working with files. I propose you server app written with node.js
