I have an excel sheet with a column of values (say column A). I then have an equation that I want to solve for the value in column A.
I can do this using "goal seek", but it is too slow with a column full of data. I need an automated solution.

Automatic goal seek can solve the issue. But, If you want more speed, maybe using custom methods like Newton Raphson to achieve desired accuracy (2 decimal) is best. In case you prefer that, It will take 2-3 days.
I've been working with VBA on a daily basis for about two years. Wold love to work on this project; if accepted over the weekend, I can get it out to you in under an hour.
I can create a macro sub procedure or a function to automate the process. I had similar tasks before and I was able to solve them using both solutions.
