This project should take 2 hours. We are looking for a native Czech speaker that was born and lived in the Czech republic until age 16. The the average winning bid is for a language project of this size is $55, bid accordingly. This project can lead to additional work. Requirements: -We need a sample file with the words requested below. We need to make sure it is really the people we hear samples from. This will show us the quality of your voice and equipment. We will only accept bids with our sample words. -A good recording will have no background "hiss". You can check by listening to your recording, between words, it should be 100% silent. This requires a professional microphone. This is for educational software, we need a set of 200 words individually recorded. The list of 200 words are included in the project. The sample: We need a single MP3 file with you saying (in target language): 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5, 44, 56, red, green, blue, square, circle, hello, good bye. This will help us hear the quality of your voice and recording equipment. (Please only use mp3 format). The Project The project is broken into 2 milestones. Milestone 1: We need the Excel file we provide with the target language translations + the first 100 words Milestone 2: The next 100 words to complete the project. The word list are simple words for children. Numbers, colors, shapes, pronouns. You will have to do the basic translation from the English word list to your target language. At 2 words per minute, this project should take less than 2 hours. Success on this project can lead to larger word sets. The final recording should be done in a quite room, with a quality external microphone (not laptop mic). Naming files: Each word needs to be recorded as a separate mp3 file. The numbers should be recorded, for example: [login to view URL], [login to view URL], etc. Non-number words should be encoded as the language-[english word], example: [login to view URL], [login to view URL], etc. The word list will be provided upon being selected for this project. This format is a requirement of the educational software. Pronouns: In the case of pronouns that do not translate directly from English, record each variation. For example. It the word was "her" in English and the target is Spanish, you would record the 2 variations: [login to view URL], Spanish-her-plural.mp3. Language differences: Some languages do not have exact translations. In this case, send us a message on the word in question with the suggested options and we will give further instructions. ADVICE FOR GOOD AUDIO RECORDINGS -Use an external mic, not a imbedded laptop mic -Noise floor. You will need excellent isolation from outside, ie, plane and traffic noise, bleed from other studios, and heating/ac noise all become an issue w/spoken word when they aren't, for example, when loud things like drums or electric guitars recorded. -Dead sound. I much prefer a dead, non-reflective sound to a live sound for spoken word recording. -A comfortable space for the author to record in, including a nice comfy chair, table for a drink, etc, perhaps a music stand for the script, and headphones. People moderate their voices better if they hear themselves so make the talent wear headphones. Be aware that as the talent reads the script the relationship of their mouth position to the mic will change, ie, they may sound off mic a bit when at the bottom of the page. Keep this in mind and consider printing fewer words per page so that their range of movement will be less as they move down the page. -Watch out for rustling paper noises, clothing noises, etc. -Watch out for mouth clicks and noises. We use cranberry juice to reduce mouth clicks, and it really works...I think the tartness reduces surface tension in the saliva and leads to a lot less mouth noise. Sweet foods/drinks are bad for mouth noises...ie chocolate.
