Arduino programming for GPS control of 6 motors in marine project

i have done this before, its not easy, you need to control the rudder with a PID loop otherwise the boat yaws from side to side. Also, GPS signal is attenuated near the water, so you need to raise up the antenna on a small mast. I already have data logging code from a similar drone mounted project, we also have a board that can log to an onboard SD card. Do you need throttle control as well?
