We would like someone develop a Make file for the opensource Lux Render project. The Make file will be used to allow us to easily and automatically compile the Lux Render project on a fresh install of Ubuntu. Please read the "detailed' requirements so that potential workers understand the full scope of our expectations.
## Deliverables
Please read this carefully and please do not bid on this project unless you are the worker who enjoys commenting and documenting. Below are list of objectives and requirements. The deliverables are a "WELL COMENTED" 'make' script that allows one to compile Lux Render 0.8+. When the deliverables are executed, one should see an automatic compile of the Lux Render project ([login to view URL]) and automatically resolve any encounters which prevents the project from compiling.
* The environment is a fresh install of the most recent version of Ubuntu in the 64-bit compile.
* We wish to compile the current LuxRender (0.8 or newer) which spans Python, C++, OpenCL, and needs both Lex & YACC. There could be others unlisted here.
* The switches for our make file will be for GPU and Non-GPU compiles as well as for distributed computing
and non-distributed computing.
* This needs to be a make script that is easy for a developer who is not a system administrator to execute.
* The make script needs to handle all the sub-make scripts passing the correct parameters as necessary, and compiling or processing any components not already handled by those other make scripts.
* We need to make sure any libraries and environmental variables are in place.
* The libraries should be verified the correct version, and if not, obtained or a message on how to obtain the correct version.
* Everything needs to be well commented so a developer (not just a sysadmin) can read through the file and determine how to change any necessary components.
* A document on how to add and remove components should also be available with directions on what types of files are handled by which makes files.
