I have a project that requires some basic research.
I would like to create an Excel database that has the following information:
- All the countries who participated in the Olympic Games, sorted by year.
- Number of medals won by each country in each of those years (sorted by type of medal - gold, silver, bronze and sport)
- Number of total medals awarded to participants, sorted by sport and country in each year. For example, Mexico won the 2012 gold medal in football/soccer and had 20 (?) players awarded gold medals. In addition, they won 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals in individual events, so their total medals would be: 20 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze. *Need to include actual medals given out for team sports*
- Number of Olympic Games participants from each country, sorted by year.
- The characteristic of gold, silver, and bronze medals in each Olympic year. For example, in 2012, a bronze medal was medal is 97% copper, 2.5% zinc and 0.5% tint.
- The average price of an ounce of gold, silver, bronze, copper (etc) during each Olympic year (in USD).
