Hello, Please more details about your actual configuration of sensors placed on your truck. Which type of sensors have you connected actually on your truck(please post technical specifications)? Please specify which protocol[s] is supported by each sensor/actuator which you already have on each truck for each connector type(J1939 and J1708) . You could use arduino for the microcontroller. It is able to download and log data from SAE J1939 ECU which is a cheap price unit. and compact+lite unit. There is an already CAN BUS library we could use. It is named: mcp_can.h which is supporting arduino UNO Let me know if you would discuss about technical approach using this device.
