Innis College Quilt Event Coordinator

I’m organizing a participatory quilt-making event at Innis College (University of Toronto) where students will illustrate “what makes Innis home” on individual fabric squares. I need a professional who can both coordinate the on-campus event itself and then transform the decorated squares into a finished, display-ready quilt. During the event you will watch over the students as they draw on the quilt squares and You’ll also be responsible for sourcing and transporting all materials and supplies: pre-cut cotton squares, textile markers or fabric paints ( we can buy these on our own time, you tell us your recommendation), and any sewing equipment we might need on site (if not you can take the squares with you can make the quilt for us and we can receive it another day). On the day, I’ll rely on you to brief and direct volunteers, keep participants engaged, and make sure every square is labeled and safely collected. Once the creative portion wraps up, the squares need to become a cohesive quilt. I’m looking for someone comfortable with assembling the pieces, completing all quilting and stitching, and adding final touches such as borders and a hanging sleeve. The quilt should be sturdy enough for public display and reflect the diversity of the contributions.
