Independent film/television producer seeking a skilled screenwriter to develop a script based on the novel, Mind Games: Mazi and the Far Side, by Chike Nwasike. Mind Games is a fictional coming of age story about an intellectually gifted Nigerian boy who escapes his war-torn village for greener pastures in the United States only to find himself in a series of unfortunate conflicts that remind him that home is where the heart is. Think Forrest Gump meets Good Will Hunting but based in Africa. The novel contains stories involving violent civil war, international espionage, as well as Las Vegas card-counting. The screenplay you will be drafting would serve as the foundation of either a film or television project.

Hi! The story sounds intriguing. I haven't yet read the book, but I love the Forrest Gump/Good will Hunting hybrid ( : While I don't have extensive screenplay experience, I did write and produce a play in college that ended up winning a regional award.
