We use SVG images to represent services and their connections. We would like to have a PHP script developed that given an SVG file and a list of services to be connected. Under the "links" section of the SVG, we would like the new polylines to be added to represent those connections. Then the script outputs a new SVG with the polylines added. See the two examples attached: one with just a few polylines and the other with many - Lines should respect the layers going up and down as in the examples - Lines should not pass over the services - If several lines are near, they should respect some fixed distance

I've worked with SVG files before, like this converter: [login to view URL] For your application, I'd Import the svg as an xml file using the built in SimpleXML. The new paths would be created using predefined path offsets based on the number of connections passing through or connecting to an element.
