Job Description:
This project aims to integrate the data feed from the Ingram Web service into our online bookstore website, which is built on the CS-CART Multivendor platform. This will allow customers to browse and purchase books and other media items from the wholesaler's inventory. The Ingram Web service provides access to a large book and media information database, including stock levels and prices, which will be integrated into our website in real-time.
The project will involve several steps:
1. Research and familiarize yourself with the Ingram Web service API and the CS-CART Multivendor platform. This will include understanding the different data fields available, the format of the data returned, the methods for accessing real-time data feed, and how the platform's database and structure work.
2. Develop a system to regularly retrieve and store the data from the Ingram Web service, including stock levels and prices, on our website's database.
3. Create a user interface on our website that allows customers to browse the products available from the wholesaler, including relevant information such as title, author, price, and stock level.
4. Integrate the real-time stock level and pricing information into the product listings on the website, ensuring that customers always have access to the most up-to-date information.
5. Develop a mechanism to synchronize the product data, inventory and prices between Ingram's web service and our Website's database
6. Test the system to ensure that it is working correctly and that the data retrieved from the Ingram Web service is accurate and relevant.
7. Deploy the new feature on our website for public use.
8. Monitor the performance of the feature and make any necessary adjustments based on customer feedback and usage data.
9. Document the code, process, and any issues encountered for future reference.
The project will require skills in web development, API integration, database management and knowledge of the CS-CART Multivendor platform. The estimated time frame for completion is approximately 1-2 weeks.
