Im a Linux Systems Administrator and I am terrible with Windows based tools. I'm in a situation where I need to use Visual Studio Code to create and test chef recipes locally.
Assume that I have nothing set up and this is a completely new install.
* Ill need a well written step by step walkthrough for a completely new Windows 10 instance
* VSC is installed with all needed extensions (probably git, docker, ruby, chef?)
* At the end of following this walkthrough there is some process or button available in VSC to auto run the new recipe through test-kitchen/docker/vagrant/hyperv (I would love this to be simple)
I dont really want vagrant AND docker. If there is a way to do this with just docker/hyperv or vagrant/hyperv I am willing to use one or the other. I have no preference.
I have this ALL set up in linux, but this VSC is far beyond my safe zone. I can provide sample .[login to view URL] files for linux and recipes if needed for testing on your side. Just let me know.
