So, by Level Sets you mean Bayesian Level Sets? And, are you looking into a more explanatory document on Osher and Sethian, 1988 I guess, perhaps one of the most cited paper in our times?
The work has found use in curves and active contours where previous methods of object based features failed in applications mainly for aerial satellite imagery where buildings, water bodies etc needed to be segmented, and medical image classification (a lot) for glia cells, heart images etc. before geodesic came along. Anyway, this is what I can do for you.
1) Use LaTeX for preparing your scribe (I've experience in making formal documentation for research work, and have been doing this for machine learning class CSE department of my university this Spring. So, a great deal of mathematics, calculus etc is there)
2) Go through the following:
- Tracking interface
- Explicit contours
- Implicit contours
- Level Set equation (PDEs brief recap)
- Implementation (gradients recap)

So, let me know how you feel about it. Kindly message me whenever you're ready, we can discuss. If not online, leave your queries, or any attachments, and I shall reply ASAP.
Thank you!
Have a great weekend!
