This a seed project. Subcontractors are not welcome. The perfect freelancer will have solid background in finite element and Matlab with preference to knowledge in ANSYS. The problem is a simple 2D problem (plane strain) of a single or multiple multilayered cylinder(s) embedded in an unbounded media under an incident P-wave. The multilayered cylinder contains a piezoelectric anisotropic layer with an arc crack on its interface. The arc crack is to be considered if its surface are in contact or not. The governing equations for the problem are attached in pdf. I have not used Matlab finite element but I have used commercial FE (finite element) software. For a commercial FE all you need to solve a finite element problem is to input the geometry and material properties then apply loads. Also available Matlab packages are general purpose FE with. The best way for this project is to use existing Matlab finite element codes as I believe they have been verified. It would also help in the future to edit, customize and modify them. Here are some useful links for existing Matlab codes that could be used and modified: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] Task 1 (core program processor): Build a general purpose procedural Matlab program. The program will be based on a pre- approved flowchart or the structure of existing programs from the first two links. The program will allow for use of extended finite element as in the last two links. Since the program is based on standard FE procedure it will allow future changes. Task 2 (Existing Pre and Post): Embed the general purpose FE developed in task 1 in a custom Pre and Post processor Matlab GUI program. I have already a Matlab program that does this. It would not hurt to add existing general Pre and Post processing however this will be done in a subsequent project so do not include this in your bid cost. Task 3: Verify the program.

I will generate the Procedural MATLAB Program that is in accordance to the first two links and embed with the GUI operation from the last two links. I have done a similar project to develop modal analysis on a plane structure from the data acquisition done from an experimental procedure. You can contact me to my email ID or Phone number Cheers Marshall
