The objective is to have an app similar in design for both iPhone, iPad and Android (phone and tablet) that is a good quality email app similar to the styles and features listed below, that allows the user to encrypt the email.

It is important the app is written in a way to have exchangeable Libraries, in other words, reusable libraries as much as possible possible between the two so
a) they are easy to maintain and
b) simpler to develop
The app will incorporate all the usual features such as POP/SMTP, IMAP, EMAIL, MIME, SSH, Encryption etc etc as seen in the above examples. It must be a comprehensive and well flowing app.
Regarding Libraries, a company called Chilkat already has libraries for all standard functions Sending and Receiving, POP/SMTP, IMAP, EMAIL, MIME, SSH, Encryption etc.

I will supply these libraries to you so it will not be necessary to write a large amount of code because it already exists and works and will save you a lot of time. Mainly you will need to write the UI / UX parts, and the interfacing to the libraries.
Apparently K9 is open source, have seen it on Github, [login to view URL] perhaps that is useful as a foundation, however the UI / UX is not all that great.
Before you bid, please know that i am an IT professional with 40 years experience. So I only want "experienced" and knowledgeable coder that "write good industry standard code" not messy code.
Remember that I can provide most of what is needed internally through the Chilkat Libraries. Your job is to build the functional app around this, UI, UX, interfacing functionality, so hopefully it will not be a huge project because a lot of it is already existing.
