1. Introduction
1.1. The idea of the project – This app is targeted at small ecommerce business owners/marketers. As a small business, the firm has to promote their products to customers through doing marketing campaigns across various channels such as Facebook, Google Adwords, Promoted Tweets, small-scale events and sponsorships. Most of the time, thing’s can get really messy and unorganized. Therefore there’s a need for an app to allow a more efficient and organized way for users to track where their marketing budget is spent on. We need a mobile app to allow users to MANUALLY input the marketing budget and the result each marketing campaign generate on the go. The app should therefore track the money you spend across various marketing campaigns and matches them to the result you get. It gives you the traffic you get per dollar spent. This app aims to provide us with an overview report on the marketing budget and results based on the inputs. For instance, it will show how much a marketing campaign cost and also at the end of the day allow us to key in the data of the results achieved (e.g how much traffic is generated in the month and how much sales you are getting for a particular campaign). The app will then have a function showing us the Return On Investment (ROI) on the marketing campaigns.
1.2 Key goal of mobile application –
This app should allow us to input the campaign name, start & end date, Budgeted cost of campaign, actual cost of campaign, expected & actual revenue, expected & actual traffic, overhead allocation and a short description of the campaign. The app should also allow us to break down the cost of the overall marketing campaign into the various marketing channels costs as stated above. The various marketing channels to include are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google Adwords, Events, Sponsorship and Others.
The app should also have a ROI function to calculate outcome divided by investment cost. This ROI is given by [(Total Revenue-Total COGS)-Marketing investment-Overhead Allocation / Marketing Investment].
Lastly the app should also provide simple statistic function, showing charts to provide for the overview of ROI on a monthly basis.
1.3 Platforms the mobile app should work on: Android & iPhone.
1.4 Graphical design – I have attached images for reference.
1.5 The budget of the project - £50 to £100
1.6 Desired time-frame for product delivery – 1 week. By day 4 we should be expecting screenshot images of the App.
2. The details of the project
2.1 Screens - Screens (tabs) should be presented separately, with images available, presentations, and all other visual materials.
2.2 Portrait mode – Prefers a portrait mode to be implemented in on the mobile app and able to rotate screen to landscape when needed.
2.3 Offline work - Mobile app should be able to store any data on the device. If possible, it should allow the data to be stored online too so multiple users can input into the app and contribute to the overall tracking of marketing budget.
2.4 Printing features - Mobile app should allow overview report to be sent to via email in Excel/PDF format so that we can print the information
