Varsity Bowling Inc. that houses bowling alleys for the recreation of its customers plans to create a software application to manage its operations. You are entrusted with the task of designing and implementing the database components of this application. Implementation of the database should be done in SQL Server. Basic descriptions of operations are given in the paragraph below. You are also urged to visit websites of popular local bowling alleys to find the kind of services offered in bowling facilities.
Description of Varsity Bowling Operations:
Varsity Bowling hosts multiple bowling lanes in its facility. The business also has a small cafeteria where it offers popular eating options such as pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, beverage drinks etc. While both members and non-members could rent the bowling lanes, it offers discounted pricing to members, both for the lane rentals and at the cafeteria. While walk-in rentals are allowed subject to availability, customers could do advance booking through phone. Lanes are rented on an hourly basis. You may assume that the rental rates do not vary between different days/hours (peak vs. non-peak). Customer could pay for the rental using cash, check or credit card.
Project Deliverables:
List of Entities: At least 10 entities identified including any associative entities identified for resolving M:N relationships
Business Rules: Rules that involve the above mentioned entities
ER Diagram: This diagram should resolve all M: N relationships. This should clearly identify the major attributes of various entity sets along with Primary/Foreign keys. Show appropriate connectivity. Use MS Visio for creating ERD.
Implementation in SQL Server: Create tables and Insert at least five rows into each of the created tables using SQL statements (You can make up the data).Turn in the SQL script used both for creating tables and adding data.
SQL Queries: At least 10 queries using joins (involving at least two tables in each query and three tables in three of the queries), aggregate functions, “group by” functions etc. should be turned in along with screenshot printout of your results.
