Upgrade MariaDB version in XAMPP installation

I am currently using 10.1.29-MariaDB with a xampp install. This version of MySQL does not support subqueries in a view. I need to upgrade my database to a version that supports View subqueries. I need someone knowledgeable is doing an update like this as I understand updating a xampp installed MySQL is a bit different from a stand alone MySQL install. This must not disrupt the current environment as I need everything working as usual after the upgrade is performed. Please provide reassurance that you are fully comfortable with this process. Access to server will be provided using Teamviewer.

I am comfortable with the proposal. Experienced within the ecosystem of Windows NT family of things and Linux as well as different variations of the LAMP stack and SQL databases. An upgrade should not take more than a day at most, and will consist of backing up the database and conducting an upgrade. The upgrade should not disrupt anything in place, however I take precautions.
