have an existing c# application that needs extending and enhancing. This is an ongoing project that will have specified sub projects. The application is written in c# Visual Studio 10, and uses the serial comms port and multithreading to maintain communication with hardware devices connected to the serial port. Hardware devices are represented by software objects, and these are used as the basis for configuring the installation. The project requires excellent skills in understanding c#, windows forms, multithreading and communications. I have written most of the application as a novice in C# but as an experienced embedded programmer. It works but may need tidying up to best practise programming. Two sections were written by another coder who now has no time to assist - and thes parts I will find hard to explain. 1) Saving objects and fiels to an XML file 2) Translating numeric values to user definable text. First task - Understand and become familiar with the existing code Then the XML file handling needs expanding to take more objects. Further task as the program develops.
