Hi As requested i will give you a fully designed PCB with gerber, drill and BOM output for your device. And yes it will continue to supply 5.15V @4A for 15 seconds after the power has been switched off. Please let me know the kind of USB socket you would like to have. Regards Soumitra

You would need a 15F supercapacitor to keep the output voltage at 5.15V for 15seconds at 4A. A 5F, 12V supercap costs $62 USD. You would need 3 so $186. Your only alternative is a battery but now you need to include a charger circuit and use a buck-boost for the 5.15V output. Also, there is no way to connect the GPIO pin to ground when there is no power unless you use an NC mechanical relay. Regards, Jim

The capacitor would need to be around 8 Farads to provide the 315 Joules of energy. 21 W * 15 seconds = 315 Joules. Worse case input voltage is 10V from car battery then 8 Farads at 10V would be 400 Joules. Extra is needed to cover inefficiency of DC/DC converter. I would like to work on this for you.
